Lucía Sanaphre Villanueva

My main research interests are related to the physiological mechanisms that tropical plants use to face environmental stresses such as drought, and if these mechanisms translate into ecological dominance of plants along environmental gradients.

My current line of investigation is to elucidate if tropical tree seedlings show a coordinated functioning among leaf, stem and root traits, and if so, how this coordination varies in response to differential selective pressures.
